Just amazing, what a voice, absolutely brilliant album, after her work with Joe Bonamassa on the 2011 album Don't Explain, gone from strength to strength.
Have 5 more of her solo albums, all good music!

Eventually downloaded Beth Hart's new album, watched her on Jools Holland, heard her on Paul Jones and streamed the album on Spotify. Just amazing, what a voice, absolutely brilliant album, after her work with Joe Bonamassa on the 2011 album Don't Explain, gone from strength to strength. Down By The River Thought this was a blues album, it has everything including a Bob Dylan, Tindersticks feel, not sure yet, need more plays, good lyrics, tunes and Emmylou! http://malcolmholcombe.com "Down the River" is Malcolm's first independent release in several years and reunites Malcolm with Ray Kennedy, who produced earlier efforts. This album also boasts more recognizable guests than most of Malcolm's earlier records. Emmylou Harris lends background vocals to "In Your Mercy," and Malcolm duets with Steve Earle on "Trail of Money." Darrell Scott plays dobro, banjo and electric guitar, and former Uncle Tupelo and Wilco member Ken Coomer handles drums. "I wanted to shoot for Mars," Malcolm says of the high-powered lineup on this record. "Luckily, Ray knew some Martians." But the core of each cut is Holcombe's voice, which can growl like a cement truck in low gear or mellow into a heart-tugging croon, and his guitar playing. Malcolm plays with his bare fingers and his percussive attack makes it easy to overlook the precision with which he plays. "I always forget what a good guitar player he is," said an audience member after a recent Malcolm Holcombe show. "You think he's just beating on it, but then you realize he's fingerpicking really fast and not missing a note." There is an intensity in Malcolm Holcombe's performances that can put off those used to a more laid back product, but those who have watched him know that Malcolm Holcombe is not just playing for gas money. This is who he is and what he does. The acts of writing songs and playing music have always been hopeful ones, however the bleak the subject matter of the songs might be. With Down the River, Malcolm Holcombe has once again given us a handful of songs that are testimony to the human spirit. In these songs, the old truths still hold. Love, the inner life, music, these are eternal verities and will outlast the trickery and chicanery of those who would turn us against each other. In these strange and troubled times, we need Holcombe's witness as much as we ever have, and it is our good fortune to receive it. (Amazon) Omar Dykes - Blues Bag (1992) This is Omar without the Howlers. New artist to me, this is the type of album I'm always searching for, 15 tracks of class blues, thanks to my mate Jamesie for a great discovery! Looking forward to discover more from Omar Kent Dykes and the Howlers. Played this back to back which is always good sign! Check out the links below http://www.omarandthehowlers.com/snippet4.htm http://www.myspace.com/omarandthehowlers https://www.facebook.com/pages/OMAR-and-the-Howlers-FB/193132500730875 http://www.youtube.com/omarandthehowlers Mess Of Blues (2008) Great album of Live Rockin' Blues with an eclectic mix of covers from The Band, Neil Young & Cream to name a few. Following a lengthy struggle with cancer, Jeff Healey sadly passed away in March 2008, on the eve of the release of Mess of Blues, his first album in over eight years. Arguably one of the most distinctive blues-rock guitar players of our time, the album is already regarded as a storming return to Healey's blues-rock roots. (From Amazon) Sound Barrier, Live Bootleg recorded at Hamersmith in 1990. Excellent sound quality on this bootleg makes for a superb live album 5/5. Been tinkering with the web site while listening to Albert King's "The Blues Don't Change" and two from Ace Moreland, Hindsight Is 20/20 & Keepin' A Secret. The Blues Don't Change - Albert King Good album, really enjoyed it, need to hear more from AK. Another recording I've not heard for ages, feels like a new album just discovered! Only having the one Albert King Album and in a guitar blues mood, now listening to Ana Popovic - Live In Amsterdam. Great guitar player, check out her music at - http://www.anapopovic.com/home Only downloaded one new album, Mark Lanegan Band - Amsterdam - Leap Year, good live album from Feb 29 2012. Has a good selection of old and new. Must get his Blues Funeral album! Had a very varied playlist lately, been listening to Black Sabbath, Default, Mark Knopfler with Emmylou Harris, Joe Bonamassa, Dudley Taft, Mark Lanegan, Lady Antebellum, Black Crowes & a few others. Black Crowes Had a re-union with the BCs, been out and about to dentist and doctors, only took my phone with no new tunes uploaded, selected The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, great album, solid Rock and Roll tracks with an old school Rolling Stones & Faces feel. Then Shake Your Money Maker & Amorica both from the 90s. Enjoyed every track on all the albums I listened to, a few more to re-connect to, By Your Side, Before The Frost, Freak 'n' Roll- Into The Fog, Lions, The Lost Crowes, Three Snakes And One Charm, Warpaint & Live At The Greek with Jimmy Page where a mix of Crowes and LZ classics are brilliantly sung by Chris Robinson, the Zeppelin tracks are amazing, may be better than Robert Plant, only an opinion!
