Forward In Reverse (2007) If you were looking for the next big thing in blues look no further than Ryan McGarvey. He is the future of the genre. Forward in Reverse was released in 2007 and is McGarvey’s debut album. The 23-year-old will have his work cut out for him trying to match the quality work he delivers on this album. McGarvey’s guitar work is scorching and you can hear the influences of Stevie Ray Vaughan in “Texas Special,” and Joe Bonamassa in “Blue Eyed Angel Blues.” Still McGarvey manages to capture a sound of his own. His vocals are also very impressive and distinct. Ryan McGarvey is one of the best guitarists you've never heard. Blues Rock Revue. My problem is I heard Redefined prior to this album, which sounds amazing, awarded it a 4.95 rating in October. As for Forward In Reverse, it's an excellent record, rating 4.00. |
