November 2020
Three amazing albums so far, 2 rated Great and 1 VG, all blues/rock. Gifted 7 more blues & rock records, will play and rate soon.
The Boss and JB added. Coen Wolters Band & Alastair Greene Rated VG.
Big Fan of Joe Bonamassa, but disappointed with Royal Tea, not bad but not great, only rated Good. At least Bruce Springsteen is getting back to his songwriting best with Letter To You (2020) rated VG, after the crap of Western Stars (2019).
As for the rest, there's too many bland filler tracks, example is Deitra Farr has some brilliant songs then next is a boring 12 bar blues riff, shame as she has a great voice.
Three from Arlen Roth, blues guitarist & hard rock from Black Stone Cherry's new release The Human Condition.

Unexpected gift The Allman Betts Band, two albums, first play both rated great. Kudos JWR. More Blues Rock from Savoy Brown and Kirk Fletcher. Recent 2020 release from Tool - Ohms, still love heavy riffs.

July 2020
After watching Pete Pardo's Favorite Album Of 2011 on YouTube, wanted to discover Symphony X, not disappointed.
Pete really knows his stuff, great way to find new music for the viewer, don't agree with all of his choices, but hey, do have Whitesnake - Forevermore and own many Uriah Heep albums.

Thought it would be a quiet few months, so far April has had amazing albums. Now starting May's additions, gifted new music and downloaded some classic old school rock, just to blow the real blues away! Stay Safe.
Weird happening, after Back In Black download, opened my ears to early AC/DC and downloaded a further 5 albums, lovin' the rock.

April 2020
8 years of my Music Diary 2012 - 2020. Good to look back and re-discover my music.
Like buses great music can all arrived at the same time, from old school rock, guitar genius, new blues, new rock and a music legend. April's additions have been exceptional, had a great time listening to all Blog & NEW buttons for more.
TBelly are a British Indie-Blues Band featuring singer and piano player Russell Keefe, Guitarist Ross Lardner, backing vocalist Debs Bonomini, drummer Kevin Magill, bassist Riad Abji and harmonica player Al Richardson. "If their live show is anything like that of this stellar debut, TBelly just may be the must see blues act of the year." - BluesPowR Blog "TBelly make some fine music, but it is their vocal performance that grabs the ear and engages the spirit. Blues songs can compress deep and complex feelings into a few lines. When they are projected with this kind of power and conviction they can also open a door into a world of shared experiences" - All About Blues Music "If it's blues with raunch and punch you're after, then have a close listen to TBelly's debut album Dead Men Don't Pray. From Russell Keefe's raspy, 'Tom Waits- style vocals, scorching guitar licks, pounding piano, ultra-tight rhythm and all the other elements you would expect from a hot blues band, this album doesn't disappoint with every track a standout that will leave you breathless." - The Blues & Roots Music Blog "this first album puts Keefe's giant, growling vocals up against an eclectic and unique brand of blues-rock meets R&B" - The Daily Vault "This album demands your attention, with musicianship that is pure, and arrangements that allow space for every instrument to have its moment. But it is the vocals that make this an album to explore. Highly recommended." - Blues In Britain "The final, quiet, emotive "Broken" is so beautiful with that fragile acoustic support and Keefe's raw, murmuring but perfectly audible voice that you would wish it lasted a much longer time. But the same goes for the whole of this release." Amazon product review.
After March's album of the month, needed to discover more from Josh Smith, Over Your Head rated Great. Six new albums added and everyone is brilliant, will be having more plays before giving ratings. Big thank you to my mate James for his discovery.

February 2020
New album released 07/02/2020.
My favourite guitarist, played the blues with such emotion it gave you goosebumps! http://www.gary-moore.com/ Guitar Legend Died 06/02/2011. |
Once again gifted many albums from my mate, added them to February's collection, this will give me more time to review all 24.
Was warned they are an eclectic selection, I like that, may not like all the music though! After a quick listen to random tracks there is a lot of Blues, most by female artists, don't mind that!
Posted all on NEW and rated a few. 23/01/20.

Set my standards too high me thinks! Most of January's additions are rated Good then a couple of Very Good ending with a few OK's.
Still have a few albums to listen to, will there be a Great one waiting to be discovered, maybe? Still have eight to play, see what happens.
