Take My Hand (2011) It is often said that you don't have to peer very deeply into the pedigree of rock, R&B, funk or soul to happen upon a little blues. This is obviously a view shared by King King, who have gone swashbuckling through the blues family tree to produce their debut album Take My Hand. Amazon. An eclectic album of genres, styles and sounds that encapsulates the listener, as for me it's a superb record of fantastic songs. Love it! - rating 4.50. | Standing In The Shadows ( 2013) Winner of The British Blues Awards - Best Album 2014. Winner of Best Male Vocals - Alan Nimmo 2014. It puzzles me slightly that KK won at TBBA, I would not pitch them as Blues or even a Blues Rock band, ok there are blues influences on some songs, more of a contemporary Rock band in my opinion. Anyhoo 10 tracks of excellence from the Scottish rockers, including a version of Free's - Heavy Load. One of these albums that needs a few plays to really appreciate, a "grower". After only a couple of listens, will offer a high rating of 4.25. |
